56th International Scientific Colloquium 12 - 16 September 2011 at the Ilmenau University of Technology Ilmenau University of Technology is pleased and excited to invite you to the 56th International Scientific Colloquium, which will be held at the Ilmenau University of Technology from 12th to 16th September 2011. The Ilmenau International Scientific Colloquium has had an unbroken tradition of more than 50 years and is the "flagship" event of our university, having an excellent reputation.
In 2011, the International Scientific Colloquium is again organised by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The title of the conference is:

"Innovation in Mechanical Engineering – Shaping the Future"

The title "Innovation in Mechanical Engineering – Shaping the Future" is intended to reflect both the breadth and the depth of modern mechanical engineering. In three main topics many research areas, all involving innovative mechanical engineering, are addressed. They are also a mirror of the research strategy and technological fields to be found here at the Ilmenau University of Technology itself.

As always in this conference series, we invite and encourage contributions from both academia and industry. No matter whether you are an experienced professional or a novice in mechanical engineering – we are sure that the 56th Ilmenau International Scientific Colloquium will be of benefit to you.
