Seit dem 05.03.2011 ist die Thüringer Wirtschaftsdelegation von einer einwöchigen Reise nach Japan zurück, die unter der Federführung der LEG und in Zusammenarbeit mit OptoNet organisiert wurde. Die Vertreter von sechs Unternehmen sowie der Geschäftsführer von OptoNet trafen sich in Tokio und Hamamatsu mit potenziellen Kooperationspartnern aus Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft. Das Highlight waren zwei internationale Symposien, an denen Experten von mehr als 170 japanischen Unternehmen teilnahmen. Dabei präsentierten die OptoNet-Mitgliedsfirmen Jenoptik, asphericon, piezosystem Jena oder Hellma Optik ihre Produkte und Dienstleistungen vor Weltfirmen wie Fuji Film, Nikon, Ricoh und Sumitomo Electric.
Darüber hinaus war es dank der sehr guten Zusammenarbeit mit der AHK Japan gelungen, eine Vielzahl individueller Unternehmensbesuche zu organisieren, bei denen die Unternehmensvertreter ausgiebig Gelegenheit hatten, den japanischen Markt näher kennenzulernen und Kunden zu akquirieren. Alle Teilnehmer äußerten sich sehr zufrieden über den Ablauf und die Ergebnisse der Reise und dankten den Organisatoren.
Im Rahmen des Partnerschaftsabkommens mit der Optikregion Hamamatsu ist für den Herbst ein Besuch von japanischen Unternehmern in Jena geplant.

- Display, recovered in 2009 because of the Eco Point will be growing in 2010 toward the transit to the Digital from Analog TV which will stop at July 2011.
