    Video: Interfacing - how interfaces compare and how to keep independent
    Mark Williamson - STEMMER IMAGING GmbH   Content: In the last years we have seen machine vision interfacing standards develop from standardising the cable with CameraLink to providing a complete interfacing framework with GenICam. At Vision 2012 we expect 5 standards. While the all-encompassing GenICam standard can standardise both, the camera control and the data transport layer, some of the new interfaces do not to adopt GenICam in its entirety. This presentation covers a review of the standards and how they compare, not only on a performance basis, but on a standards basis. We show how STEMMER IMAGING delivers an independent acquisition platform, not only for our own software platform CVB, but for users of leading machine vision products.To conclude we show how image acquisition is going beyond camera image capture and will show examples of new higher level acquisition engines that allow, f.e. easy creation of calibrated 3D data ...
