Competences
Holz-21-regio is a joint project of Thuringian companies and universities with the aim of processing the natural resource wood of the Thuringian forest in a more value-adding way in the region and thus creating a long-term livelihood for the local people.
The focus is on the material use of the raw material. With innovations in the areas of climate resilient forest conversion, the wood value chain and wood as a building material of the future, strong business sectors in Thuringia are being linked in a new way in order to develop and manufacture durable wood products.
Products
Holz-21-regio as an association provides the opportunity to contribute new projects and product ideas as a member (Thuringian company in the SME sector) and to receive a share of the funding for these.
Applications/Markets
The target markets are the construction industry, waste and recycling management, the forestry and timber industry, but also machine builders, sensor specialists and information technologies along the entire value chain.
Support & Services
Holz-21-regio offers a platform for Thuringian companies that are interested in research and transfer services in the field of forestry and timber industry, optics and sensor technology and special mechanical engineering and want to participate in the network.
Education & Training
With annual project calls, workshops & collaboration conferences, the Holz-21-regio network offers the active participation of all members for new project ideas, professional exchange and cross-sector innovations.
